**10/23 UPDATE**

HEY EVERYONE. BELOW IS AN EMAIL FROM THE CONSTRUCTION TECH REGARDING THE CONSTRUCTION TO 12TH AVE.

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE CHANGES TO ROUTES AND PLANNED DATES.

The 12th Avenue project is behind schedule due to wet weather, utility conflicts, and railroad coordination. To recover some of that lost time, McCarthy Improvement has proposed an overnight concrete pour beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday, October 29, and continuing into Friday morning. Scheduling the pour overnight is intended to reduce daytime business impacts and provide a safer work environment. 

This work will require temporary road and driveway closures, with alternate access to businesses as outlined below.

Wednesday, October 28

  • 12th Avenue will remain open.

  • The BP driveway along 12th Avenue will close for removal and preparation. Customers should use the improved entrance on the north side of the parking lot.

  • The Bend entrance and exit along 12th Avenue will close for removal and preparation. Patrons should use 1st Street by the floodwall.

Thursday, October 29

  • The BP driveway and The Bend entrance and exit along 12th Avenue will remain closed.

  • 12th Avenue will close at 5 p.m. for overnight paving, which is expected to continue until mid-morning Friday.

  • After 5 p.m., Rust Belt patrons should exit via the route by East Moline Glass to 7th Street.

Friday, October 30

  • Westbound 12th Avenue is expected to reopen after paving is completed, anticipated by mid-morning.

  • Concrete will be placed for the BP driveway, which will remain closed while the concrete cures.

  • The Bend entrance and exit along 12th Avenue will remain closed. Patrons should continue using 1st Street by the floodwall.

  • The south side of the 3rd Street intersection will reopen. Please use caution in this area.

Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1

  • Concrete placement for The Bend entrance is scheduled for Saturday. The entrance will remain closed while the concrete cures.

  • The Bend patrons should continue using 1st Street by the floodwall.

  • The BP driveway along 12th Avenue will remain closed.

  • Westbound 12th Avenue will remain open.

Monday, November 2

  • The BP driveway is expected to reopen, subject to satisfactory concrete strength test results.

  • The Bend patrons should continue using 1st Street by the floodwall.

  • Westbound 12th Avenue will remain open.

Tuesday, November 3

  • The Bend entrance is expected to reopen, subject to satisfactory concrete strength test results.

  • The Bend exit will remain closed as crews prepare it for concrete placement.

  • Westbound 12th Avenue will remain open.

The schedule may change based on weather, construction conditions, and concrete strength testing; updates will be provided as changes occur.  Thank you for your patience in dealing with this necessary inconvenience as crews complete this major step toward finishing the roadway. Please follow posted signs and use caution throughout the construction area.
